Hi there! Thanks so much for inviting on your blog. What a great idea to have a blog for young writers. When I was growing up we didn't have blogs – we didn't even have computers! Can you imagine that? Yep, that was the olden days, where I rode around in a horse and cart (no, not really – we had cars by then) and everything I wrote was by hand. Sometimes I still prefer to write my stories by hand. I always carry a notebook with me because you never know when a good idea is going to come to you. My notebooks are full of ideas: things I remember from my childhood, drawings, snippets of conversations I may have heard, even cuttings from newspapers and magazines that interest me. Sometimes I might even begin a story in my notebook, then when I feel it begin to take shape, I'll begin to type it out on my computer. A notebook is a great place to practice your writing. Because, like everything, if you want to be good at something, what do you have to do? Yep, that's right – practice! Imagine if you were a runner and you turned up on race day to run your 100 metre sprint without having done any practice. You wouldn't do your best run, would you? Well, writing is just the same. The more you practice in your notebook, the more likely it is that when you do finally sit down at the computer, the ideas will flow. The more you write, the better you get at writing. Good luck! Melbourne for the Olympics in 2024


 Dear I.O.C,

I believe the Olympics should be in Melbourne Australia.

Australia has the M.C.G, it fits a lot of people.  There is food such as chips and drinks.  It also has big lights so you can do sports at night.

We have the Bolty Bridge and nice rivers. There are lights.
I truly believe the best city is Melbourne.

Dear I.O.C,

I believe the Olympics should be in Melbourne Australia.

Firstly Melbourne has Etihad stadium. It has a roof so you don’t have to cancel the game if it rains. It can fit 40,000 people so lots of people can watch.  

The races should be at the M.C.G you have the shrine for the opening ceremony. The person can talk on the grass the runners don’t run very far.

My last reason that you should choose coze we have the Yarra river they can run around the river. They can do rowing also they can go very quick in the Yarra River.

The Olympics  definitely  should be in Melbourne Australia.

 I believe  that  the  Olympics  should  be  in  Melbourne.



My first reason is that we have the MCG.  You can go by tram and a train or in a car.  At the MCG you can buy food.  We can have the Opening Ceremony at the MCG.


We have the Yarra River.  They can do running, swimming and rowing at the Yarra River.



Melbourne should have the Olympics.

I believe the Olympics should be in Melbourne, Australia.

My first reason is we have the Art Centre.  If you are walking with the Olympic torch you can walk around the Art Centre.

My second reason is we also have Federation Square.  It has a huge T.V.

Now you know the Olympics should be in Melbourne, Australia.

Dear I.C.O,

This is your boss speaking……  I THINK the Olympic should be in Melbourne Australia because we were voted to be the best city.

This is my first AWESOME reason why the Olympics should be in Melbourne,  Australia. We have Federation Square so if you did not get some tickets you can go and watch it on the big screen. If you have some kids that do not like the  Olympics they can go and do a game master that helps you how it works.  It has some cafes there and you can eat everything.

My second reason why the Olympics should be in Melbourne, Australia is because we have The Queen Victoria Market. The Queen Victoria Market has all different types of food so if you come from a different country you can eat your type of food.

I believe that Olympics should be in Melbourne, Australia because we’ve got all different icons. If you need to go and watch the football you can go to Flinders Street Station to go on trains and buses and trams and all other things that get you places to go.

 That’s three reasons why the OLYMPICS should be in Melbourne, Austraila for the 2024 Olympics Games!
