Hi there! Thanks so much for inviting on your blog. What a great idea to have a blog for young writers. When I was growing up we didn't have blogs – we didn't even have computers! Can you imagine that? Yep, that was the olden days, where I rode around in a horse and cart (no, not really – we had cars by then) and everything I wrote was by hand. Sometimes I still prefer to write my stories by hand. I always carry a notebook with me because you never know when a good idea is going to come to you. My notebooks are full of ideas: things I remember from my childhood, drawings, snippets of conversations I may have heard, even cuttings from newspapers and magazines that interest me. Sometimes I might even begin a story in my notebook, then when I feel it begin to take shape, I'll begin to type it out on my computer. A notebook is a great place to practice your writing. Because, like everything, if you want to be good at something, what do you have to do? Yep, that's right – practice! Imagine if you were a runner and you turned up on race day to run your 100 metre sprint without having done any practice. You wouldn't do your best run, would you? Well, writing is just the same. The more you practice in your notebook, the more likely it is that when you do finally sit down at the computer, the ideas will flow. The more you write, the better you get at writing. Good luck! And have fun.

Best wishes,

Haunted House

The ceiling was covered with squeeking rats.  If you dared go  in, they would jump on you. The redback spiders would spin yucky webs in your eyes and lay their eggs. The tractor was deadly.  It would automatically try to run you over.

Gypsy

Wow! When I saw those soft spots on Gypsy I was amazed.  The lovely eyes were brilliant and I just adore her, she was beautiful.  Gypsy was superb.  She had delicate, black and white fur.  It was absolutely stunning.  I just love her.

Farm

A spooky farm with an old tractor.  It couldn't work. It had yucky slime and hay with boots.  It had spiders in them.  The farm was deserted!  Then a ghost came in and picked up a man and he dropped the man.

Kittens

Kittens are so cute and cuddly,
When they're asleep they look so snuggly.

When they wake they'll go and play,
Save some for another day!

The Buttercatdogzebgiramousepige

Once two girls were walking in a forest when all of a sudden they fell into an underground cave. It was beautiful. Hanging from the roof were blue gems. An animal with butterfly wings, cat face, dog tail, zebra body, giraffe neck, mice feet and pigeon eye, called a Buttercatdogzebgiramousepige that was so amazing, flew by.

The girls didn’t know why the Buttercatdogzebgiramousepige ate one of the gems off the roof and flew away. They thought it was probably getting a blue gem for its collection of gems.

They followed the Buttercatdogzebgiramousepige and it led them to a cave with lots of treasure in it. Treasure chests, gold, jewels, money, crystals and gems. The Buttercatdogzebgiramousepige let them have their very own treasure chest and carried the girls, with the treasure back to their house.

“Where did you get that treasure from? There’s so much treasure!” said their mum. They told their mum to keep it a secret that the Buttercatdogzebgiramousepige had given it to them, and that they had fallen into the underground cave where there was lots and lots and lots more treasure.

Every Christmas the Buttercatdogzebgiramousepige gave visited them and gave them lots of treasure because they kept the secret.

The end.

Mum

The best mum ever,
Is very clever.
She is hard to find,
'Cause she's an ultra rare kind.
She is as funny,
As a bunny.
And nice down to her tummy.
Now can you guess who she is?
My Mum!
